Sarah Schmidt


Sarah Schmidt - Chair


is a graduate engineer (physics) and is doing her doctorate in Trondheim (Norway) on the topic of sustainable consumption and energy consumption.

She has been volunteering in Latin America since 2007 and is a co-founder of the Puente Nica association


As the central contact person for the work of Puente Nica, she has headed the association since 2012.

Verena Prinz - Deputy Chair, Coordination Library on Wheels


2012-2013 spent a voluntary social year in the Casita del Árbol in Tipitapa, became an active member of the association one year after her return and has been on the board since 2016.


She is primarily the contact person for the book bus project.

After completing her Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies,

she completed a Master's degree in cultural management and cultural education and is working at

ENGAGEMENT GLOBAL in the area of funding for projects abroad - bengo.

Marcello Perez


Lea-Sophie Kern - Public Relations, Coordination of public relations


was volunteer for the project La Casita del Árbol for one year from 2012 to 2013 and has been a member of Puente Nica since 2015. In 2015 she became part of the team on Scholarships and has headed it since 2018.

She coordinates the tasks of the team Scholarships in Germany and is responsible for fundraising and is in regular contact with the scholarship holders in Nicaragua.

Lea-Sophie studies psychology in Erlangen. She is active on the board since 2020

Anja Vigenschow


Dr. med. Anja Vigenschow - Secretary, Fundraising Coordination


is a doctor and did a voluntary service in the Casita del Árbol from 2011-2012.

Since the foundation of Puente Nicas, she has been the secretary on the board.


She is currently responsible for coordinating fundraising activities also the South-North exchange.

Simon Hempel


Simon Hempel - Treasurer


is a physiotherapist and lived in Nicaragua for a total of 18 months between 2011 and 2013.

There he completed a voluntary social year and lived after a short return to Germany

another six months on site.


He is co-founder of Puente Nica eV and responsible for the association's finances.
