High school scholarships

The program of the school scholarships of the Puente Nica e.V. covers the fees of the German High School in Managua for highly gifted Nicaraguan students with financially weak backgrounds. The aim is to enable the best-in-class students of community schools in the Managua district to complete a high-quality school education.

The idea for the scholarship program goes back to 2012 and is based on the belief of the importance of good education - especially given the devastating differences in education levels between state and private schools.

In the first phase of the project, a student from Tipitapa (suburb of the capital Managua) was enrolled in the German School Managua with the support of a 40% partial scholarship from Puente Nica e.V.
